"Since I was a kid I have immersed myself in everything related to movies. I have my late grandmothers love of Mafia flicks, my Dads need to have his son cultured by the likes of Taxi Driver and The Thing, and my Mum for allowing me to wait in video stores when she went shopping, to thank for this. I wouldnt say I was opinionated, I veer away from negativity and usually dont take films too seriously, so I end up liking films for their individual merits. My favourites are the kind I found myself watching as a teenager after waking in the middle of the night with the TV on. Alex Cox presented Moviedrome in the late 80's, and I was introduced to cult movies that would shape my life. The weird 70's and 80's stuff, Romero and De Palma in their prime. Scorsese and Tarantino came along and rocked my world. I went to school dressed as Mr White. Now I check for anything at all by Paul Thomas Anderson, Shane Meadows, Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, Takeshi Kitano and Michael Mann. If it has some kinda hard-boiled vibe then I'm in. The rest of my time is spent living in Hackney, listening to drum&bass and hiphop, reading Elmore Leonard, James Ellroy and Robert Crumb, writing reviews and watching a movie I havent seen before every day"

Favourite Movie:
Reservoir Dogs - it had the best script, the coolest actors, a real brutal side. To me, as a 13yr old sneaking into the cinema to watch it, this was the film I had been waiting to see all my life. In terms of style it hasn't been beaten yet. Tarantino does hard-boiled 70's cool, brings it to the 90's, and nails it.
Favourite Actor/Actress:
Harvey Keitel - purely because he has been so good in so many ultra-hip movies.
For intensity though, Daniel Day Lewis in either Gangs Of New York or There Will Be Blood - no one else can live a role like that.
