"I got a degree in film a long time ago, just before the turn from 8mm to digital, but just in time for my technical knowledge to become obsolete. I teach philosophy, religion and speech, which means I’m very deep and not afraid to talk about it. I have always loved film, especially classic films—which is why I got that degree. When other kids in the 80’s wanted to be Jon Bon Jovi or Alex P. Keaton, I bought a red windbreaker and penny loafers so I could look like James Dean. I don’t generally prefer one genre of film over another; I just like a good, well-crafted story. "
